Repair or Replace your damaged windshield?
The most frequently asked question in the Auto Glass Industry is "Can you just repair this or do I have to replace it?" The answer to that question is actually different for every customer, because every circumstance is different. Damages range from pitted windshields that need a bit of attention to a cracked windshield that is already splitting in three directions. So the best rule to go by is the quarter or dollar rule. If your rock chip can be covered by a quarter, it can be repaired. If your crack is smaller than a dollar bill, then it can be repaired. Call us - we can help.
REPLACING A DAMAGED WINDSHIELD
We can have your car back in safe operational condition again within two hours. Yes, the ClearView glass guys will remove your cracked windshield, apply a special professional grade adhesive (that we heat to 180 degrees) and install your new, industry-approved auto glass. This special adhesive provides the strongest seal possible as it cools.
ClearView glass guys will clean up and leave your vehicle like new. We ask for two hours mainly because we need about an hour to remove and replace your damaged auto glass, and another hour for adhesive curing time. We prefer at least an hour of curing time before we consider the vehicle safe to drive. If you can allow more time - please do. The longer the better.
REPAIRING A DAMAGED WINDSHIELD
When we make repairs to minor damage such as pits, stars, or chips, we begin work with a super zoomy vacuum stationary block.
We cover the center of damage and gently drill to prep the surface so we can inject resin into the damage site.
Next comes the curing process (takes about a minute to complete).
We cure the liquid resin we just applied under a professional grade UV lamp. Cure takes 60 seconds and you are ready to hit the road again, EASY.
